Privacy policy
Last updated 2 August 2026.
The short version
- Your data is stored in Australia, in Google Cloud's Sydney region.
- We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
- This website has no analytics, no cookies and no tracking scripts. The only thing it collects is an email address, and only if you type one into the form.
- You can export everything, and you can have it deleted.
This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. Our host records standard server logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention; we do not use those logs to build any profile of you.
The email form
There is one form on this site, at the bottom of the home page. If you enter your email address there, we store that address so we can send you the setup guide you asked for. That is the only reason we hold it.
It does not stay at the edge. The form posts directly to our application server in Google Cloud's Sydney region (australia-southeast1), and the address is stored there. It is not processed by our website host, is not passed to a marketing platform, and is not added to any list beyond the one guide you requested.
We keep the source page — for example, that you submitted from the home page. We do not keep the referring URL, because that can carry search terms and identifiers from other services that you did not choose to give us.
Ask us at support@poolslip.com and we will delete the address. You do not need an account, and you do not need to explain why.
The app
What we hold about you, the operator
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address and name | To sign you in and to contact you about your account. |
| Your business name and logo | They appear on the reports your customers receive. |
| Visit records, readings, photos, notes | They are the product. |
| Diagnostic and crash data | To find faults. It does not include your customers' details. |
Subscriptions are billed through the App Store and Google Play. Your card details are held by Apple or Google, never by us — we never see them and cannot store them.
What you hold about your customers
Pool owners' names, addresses, contact details and pool access notes are entered by you. They belong to you and we process them on your behalf, under your instructions. We do not contact your customers except to deliver the service reports you send, and we never include this information in analytics.
Pool access notes are treated as the most sensitive field in the product. They may contain gate codes or alarm information, so they never appear in a customer report, a CSV export, or an application log.
Photographs
Photos you take are stored with the visit. They may incidentally capture people or property.
They are kept until you delete them or delete your account. We do not currently expire them automatically. When we introduce the retention periods described on our pricing page, they will expire photographs only — the service record itself, and the readings and doses on it, are kept as long as the account exists.
Where it is stored
All application data is stored in Google Cloud in australia-southeast1
(Sydney). Backups are held in Australia. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Who else can see it
We use a small number of processors, each for a stated purpose:
| Processor | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Cloud (Australia) | Hosting, database, file storage, authentication, push notifications |
| Cloudflare | Serving this website only. It holds no application data. |
| Apple and Google | Subscription billing through their app stores. They hold card details; we do not. |
| Crash and error reporting | Diagnosing faults. Configured to exclude customer personal data. |
We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for direct marketing. We will disclose it if the law requires us to.
Customer service reports
A report is delivered by a link that expires and covers a single visit. It is not indexed by search engines, it can be revoked, and it contains no account access. It never contains pool access notes.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your account deletes your visits, photos and reports. Where the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your supervisory authority.
Email privacy@poolslip.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a pool owner and an operator has your details in Pool Slip, contact that operator first — the data is theirs and we act on their instructions. If you cannot reach them, write to us and we will help.
Children
Pool Slip is a tool for businesses and is not directed at children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
